Extra-Made is a design-build practice celebrating the transformation of simple materials into expressive architectural forms. Our work is hand crafted and relies on extensive model making and prototyping to ensure each structure possesses the ability to endure and remains sensitive to its positions in an ever-evolving landscape. The process we embrace binds together design and making throughout the construction process allowing dwellings to evolve in relation to the unique circumstances and opportunities of a project. We relish constraints and use the peculiarities of each project to create novel structures that offer shelter to a variety of occupants ranging from humans to chickens.
