Local X Change

Local X Change prioritizes collaboration and civic engagement as a tactic to build agency and strengthen communities. Co-founders Sharon Massey and Sean Derry have collaborated on educational initiatives and public art projects since 2016. They formally incorporated Local X Change as a charitable non-profit organization in 2024. Operating at the intersection of education and art, Local X Change connects design, technology and civic engagement to create learning opportunities that promote agency, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. The organization’s commitment to incorporating emerging technologies into programing ensures learners are prepared to become the changemakers of the future. Massey and Derry believe in the transformative power of wonder and develop open-ended learning opportunities that invite learners to create original solutions to each project.
